What We Do

We meet every Friday, during term time, at St Ives Methodist church from 5:45pm to 7:00pm for our Anchors and Juniors sections (5-11 year olds.) We provide an activity programme, delivered each week by our team which is led by a core of experienced youth workers and teachers. We are passionate about giving young people the opportunity to unlock their potential and to develop their confidence so they can live life to the full. Our sessions are built around six activity areas:

  • Get Active
  • Get Adventurous
  • Get Creative
  • Get into the Bible
  • Get Involved
  • Get Learning

Each meeting has a formal start, including uniform inspection and the raising of our Colours (flag), before we begin the games and activities. As children work through the termly programme they earn credit towards their badges which, once they’ve achieved them, they can proudly display on their arm bands as part of their uniform.

Throughout the academic year we also provide opportunities for our members to camp, attend special events and enjoy days out with their friends. Furthermore, there are opportunities to represent the company in parades and to attend special services at St Ives Methodist Church where we will be celebrating and showcasing our members achievements.

Fellowship is a big part of meetings too and our new members can be assured of a warm welcome and new friends to enjoy their time with. Our youth leaders are on hand to set an example and guide younger members in ensuring every one is welcomed, respected and engaged with the programme. Perhaps most importantly, each week a pocket money tuck shop, run by some of our older members, is available so members can enjoy some time together, relaxing and sharing in food and fellowship with their friends.
